From the Bay to Paris

The World Series Company has collaborated with the 2nd ranked Taekwondo athlete in the world CJ Nickolas on a jacket to commemorate his USA Olympic Journey for the Paris 2024 Olympics

I was excited to design these jackets for CJ Nickolas because , I resonate with his story. Black kid, Bay Area kid who’s the best Taekwondo athlete in the world. It’s an under dog story but at the same time it’s not in his eyes. The Renaissance jacket is my favorite design I’ve ever done because it has so many art references that I appreciate. The remaking of the Caravaggio painting that features David and Goliath represents his story in my eyes too. Caravaggio is my favorite artist of all time in any era and the front of the jacket was inspired by the architecture of the Renaissance period. Thank you CJ for the opportunity.
